KAIMOSI UNIVERSITY HOLDS ITS FIRST EVER TREE PLANTING DAY

Kaimosi University College held its first ever tree planting day today.The event took place at the over three hundred acre farm in in VIHIGA county Officiating the event was VIHIGA county Minister of environment Hon Sande Mukuna and Masinde Muliro University Vice Chancellor Professor Fredrick Otieno. The two planted the first bamboo trees trees and gave a speech about the advantages of planting such trees.This project has been initiated by the Coounty of Vihiga to protect the indegenous tree that are slowly becoming extinct The youngest university college in the country which has large tracts of land is covered by part of the famous Kakamega Tropical Forest which has the whiy and black colombus monkey species and different kinds of bird species The Minister later promised to empower some of the students by oganising some white collar jobs over the April holidays A large part of the day was spent in planting the Bamboo Trees in the compound
